Camera-shy documentary filmmaker Julian Mercer has ninety days to meet the terms of his late mother's will: visit twelve Mediterranean places from her old blue notebook, filming an unstaged sixty-second clip at each one with someone he trusts enough to show the real him. He hires travel content creator Mara Bellamy to fake-date him, the same woman who once turned his private silence into a viral joke. But at every stop Mara begins dreaming memories that are not hers, and faint pencil notes in the margins suggest someone chose her long before the contract was signed. As pretending starts to feel like the only honest thing between them, both must decide whether a borrowed summer can become a chosen one.
