Unfinished Draft
Reverie Marlowe is a fantasy novelist who falls asleep at her desk while editing chapter 20 of her ongoing serial — and wakes up inside the world she created, at the exact scene she was revising. The world has read her entire manuscript, including the unpublished chapters where she wrote Kael, the dark knight lord of the borderlands, to die a heroic death at chapter 30. Kael knows. He cannot read the words, but he hears the echo of a fate he never chose — and Reverie is the only person in his world he cannot read at all. When she finally confesses what she has written for him, their confrontation becomes the beginning of something neither of them can script: she loses every privilege she had as his author, and he discovers that the only person who has ever truly known him is also the one who decided he would not survive. Stranded in a world governed by her own rules, Reverie must act not as the author who controls the story, but as the person living inside it — while a force born from her own cold logic works to ensure the original manuscript reaches its ending. A slow-burn romance about the cost of creation, the difference between knowing someone and truly seeing them, and what it means to rewrite a story you have already finished.
