At Oakridge University, architecture student Victor Vance survives by keeping the world at a precise distance — not from arrogance, but because his synesthesia translates every sharp angle and visual chaos into physical pain. When renovations force him to share Studio 204 with graphic designer Maya Lennox, the collision of his brutal precision and her vivid disorder should be unbearable. Instead, something in her presence quiets the noise. What begins as a transactional arrangement — her company in exchange for equipment access — evolves through late nights, a high-stakes interdisciplinary design competition, and the slow work of learning to trust. But Victor's deepest flaw is the belief that love means deciding for the people you care about. And Maya's is the certainty that she is only worth keeping when she is useful. A slow-burn contemporary romance about two people who survived by never needing anyone — and what it finally costs them to choose each other freely.
