After grief empties her life in Tokyo, Koharu Mizuse returns to her grandmother's seaside laundry shop in the small town of Fuyunagi for one winter — intending only to help with the paperwork before moving on. Instead, she finds Itsuki Aonuma, an independent podcast creator who reads an entire town's sorrows every night at ten but has forgotten how to carry his own. What Koharu doesn't tell him is that his voice was the only thing that kept her from disappearing in the months after her best friend Mio died — and that Itsuki once read Mio's last letter on air without knowing she was already gone. Through four seasons of small, ordinary moments — snow and spring chores, fireflies by the river, autumn arguments, and a lantern festival in the snow — they don't save each other. They simply stay, until staying becomes something worth choosing.
