Before Spring Goes Quiet
When sound conservation student Sera Lin — quietly losing her hearing to a progressive condition she refuses to name aloud — sets out to record one hundred sounds of spring before her world goes silent, the last thing she needs is Riku Han. He is loud, clumsy, and responsible for destroying the most irreplaceable recording she owns. But the debt he offers to repay pulls them into each other’s orbits: through rain-soaked afternoons and festival rehearsals, late nights in the repair lab and arguments on a blue-tiled stairway, through the particular cruelty of almost and the harder work of staying. Riku must learn that love is not a design problem. Sera must learn that being known is not the same as being pitied. And spring, which has never once waited for anyone to be ready, keeps arriving anyway.
