The Chrono-Tide

In a world split by the Chrono-Tide — a force that freezes one faction of humanity for a decade while the other wakes to live — Iris and Helios have spent fifty years falling in love across time they cannot share. They speak in letters, in half-finished paintings, in garden vines that bloom a decade after they are planted. They know each other's scars without ever touching, and love each other's voices without ever hearing them.

But in their fifth cycle together, Iris discovers the truth: remembering Helios too deeply is killing her. Her body is aging faster than it should, burning through time in the places where his memory lives. To save herself, she begins to erase him — cold letters, empty shelves, silence where her voice used to be. The cruel irony: the isolation she builds to survive will kill her just as surely as loving him does.

When Iris breaks the one law that cannot be broken and becomes an Echo — a ghost dissolving out of existence — Helios wakes to find her standing in the room for the first time. Not in ink. Not in stone. In light. And the house around them begins to fracture, opening doors into every version of themselves they have ever been.

With Iris fading day by day and Time Guardians hunting them through broken corridors of the past, Helios must carry her through a world that is trying to unmake her — toward the one place where time itself can be unmade instead.
